Maria’s Maternity Shoot – Part 2
This is the second half of the maternity shoot which I did yesterday. In contrast to the studio lighting and the black background, I braved a gap in the clouds later on in the day when the sun was low to create shots which I think are beautiful, peaceful and romantic.
Big thanks to Toni & Roger who own the Emporium Bistro, who let me use the gardens of their home Trott’s Cottage as the location. Trotts Cottage has beautiful grounds. The afternoon sun bares down on the dam and seeps through the weeping willow type trees. It’s quite magical. And exactly what I was visualising prior to this shoot.
My portrait sittings last for 2 hours. So I strongly suggest that if you are planning a maternity shoot, you opt for an hour in the studio, and the second part out on location. This allows for some diversity. Personally I like to keep things in perspective, and a long floaty dress is perfect for this as it is what you might be wearing anyway in these kinds of surroundings. But you can mix it up, bring a couple of different clothing options and also include other members of your family. Your husband, or even perhaps your horse! Pregnant lady on a horse. That would be fabulous. In this setting, it would be mystical. Im going off on a tangent. Sorry …..
I am offering a 2 for 1 on Baby belly photos / Newborn Shoots. A standard portrait sitting is $325, It is a very special time, and flies by in a second. Also it can be a very expensive time, so hopefully this lessens the blow!
I would say that my style of Baby Belly Photos / Newborn photography is actually quite different from most photographers specialising in this area anyway. At the end of the day, it just comes down to personal choice.
