Hey there, my name’s Victoria and I’m a photographer in Bridgetown, a cute little town in the heart of South West Western Australia. I love what I do and I pour my heart and soul into every wedding that I shoot. Even after all of the weddings I’ve shot throughout my career, all the special moments that I’ve documented, the power of love still chokes me up. Capturing that connection is what I’m all about.
I get to know my couples and bring a calming influence to what can often be a fairly hectic time. We’ll focus on building up a solid trust, so that you can relax and be yourselves around me and my camera. You can contact me at any time for advice, guidance or even just a chat about how things are going! From our initial discussion through to when I hand over your finished prints/album, I am here to share my knowledge and experience as well as offer support every step of the way. And while some photographers might just show up and shoot, I aim to tailor a bespoke boutique experience that results in you having the most incredible wedding adventure imaginable.
I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember.I chose photography as my primary medium because I’m drawn to creating beautiful imagery that records history. That might sound a little grand, but think about it - we experience history through photography. Emotions, places, people, time periods...photographs unite all these elements within their frames. These physical memories resonate with me in a way that nothing else does and I’m honoured that I get to create timeless art for a living!
I studied Film Photography at Falmouth College of Arts in South West England, and soon after began my life in London, shooting portraits
for the likes of The Face, The Sunday Times and the advertising agency M&C Saatchi. About a decade ago, I jetted off to Western Australia on a backpacking adventure and ended up camping next to some random Aussie who happened to be on a fishing trip. I don’t know what the odds are of pitching your tent next to your future husband but whatever way the world works, that’s exactly what happened! Two years of crazy long distance romance followed before I packed up my hectic London life and catapulted myself over to Australia to be with him in beautiful Bridgetown, where we now live with our wonderful kids, Evie and Charlie. So that’s a little of my love story; I guess you could say that my love for love stories sprung from there.
I aim for authenticity and presence in my work. I want people to look at my photos and be transported back to that exact moment in time, to feel the emotions as they were when I clicked the shutter. I’m not the kind of photographer who’ll nag you with directions, nor am I a ‘fly on the wall’. I want to influence the shots subtly while still preserving the natural moment. I’m fascinated with the connections between people. Making those connections real through my images is what inspires me to reach for new creative peaks with every wedding that I document.Even now, when I shoot a wedding I often get a lump in my throat and sometimes I even cry.
Please get in touch. I'd love to hear your story.
