Wedding Inspo straight from the heart of the South West!

Newlyweds kissing on Gracetown Beach in Margaret River

Some South West Wedding Inspo for all you couples out there. The South West has so much to offer in terms of its beautiful venues, locations, food & wine. Whether its a wedding, an engagement shoot, a styled shoot or just for fun – couples are my jam. So I decided to collaborate my love for all of these things, and bring you some Wedding Inspo straight from the heart of the South West!

I’ve done a few styled shoots recently. It’s an awesome way to make friends, collaborate with like minded vendors and create some art and content for everybody! So I thought I would jot some of this South West Wedding inspo down. The vendor of your dreams might be here. Or that vibe, or that dress! Perhaps the winter wedding you’ve been dreaming of may be totally doable after all.

Town & Country Shoot – Dalmore Farm

South West Wedding Inspo

When Emilie (from Dalmore) and I had this idea a while back we knew that we wanted to involve horses (It only seemed right as horses are an integral feature of Dalmore) We’ve seen a fair few trends floating around with a country vibe; boho and western to name a couple, but we wanted to do something a little more structured and upmarket. Something a bit Vogue. Or Alice Temperley the UK designer behind Temperley London & Temperley Bridal Her campaigns constantly feature the countryside and her equine friends. I am inspired by this and it reminds me of home.

Sam from SO Makeup Artistry and I have been working together for sometime and we have become quite the team. She not only is an amazing makeup artist but also has a great vision which has really helped in the direction of the shoots. Doing something a little outside the box has enabled us both to get a little uncomfortable and get our creative juices flowing. We were so fortunate to have Jacqui & Sam as our real life couple! As well as being drop dead gorgeous, they are incredible horse people, and the fact that I shot their wedding last year meant that they were completely down pat with having their photograph taken!!

Sam went for a bold vintage look on Jacqui. With beautiful red lips and wavy pinned back hair with a simple flower in it.

The dresses are from Leaf & Lace in Bunbury, many of which are from the designer Q’nique Bridal. She has a vast array of gorgeous styles This one in particular is simple, elegant and classic. Sam (the groom) wears a tailored blue number.

We love the vibe of this princess dress. Jacqui really pulled it off so well. They look like they belong in a fairytale.

Jacqui is absolutely killing it in this winter wedding. It was pretty brisk at sunset up on Dalmore’s hill! Figure hugging & flattering! I Love the fact that these two are willing to do anything no matter what they are wearing and how fancy they are looking. My kind of couple!!

Rock Star Vibe – Larry Cherubino

Sam & I were keen to do another collaboration which was a little bit edgier. We put out a few feelers for a couple and when Sharni got in touch, I knew it had to be her! Sharni and her partner Courey had the perfect vibe with their tattoos combined with his and her’s staffies (Sharni is a dog trainer!) and were exactly what we were looking for. We decided to go with Leaf & Lace again. Bron has some really great dresses and we love supporting all things local!!

Mr Mustang’s 1967 convertible was the icing on the cake. It really set the tone for the day. I wanted to get a slightly more urban effect so we started off in the centre of Margaret River and then messed around underneath Jack Bromell’s mural; the perfect combo with the blue mustang. Linda from Aromatic Passion used seasonal tulips and they really popped against all of this blue.

Larry Chrubino

When we arrived at Larry Cherubino we literally had 5 minutes before it absolutely bucketed down. I have had my eye on this place for a while. I love the cellar door building and am super excited to be shooting my first wedding here next season.

Gracetown

Gracetown is a fav of mine ever since we went on a family holiday here. It’s got a lovely old fashioned surf vibe. Mother Nature definitely kept us on our toes. I had to make quick use of time before the torrential down poor. I love shooting in wild weather though. It really does enhance my dark & moody style!

Nordic Styled Shoot – Nannup.

Have you ever thought about hiking to your elopement? Combining your love for adventure & the great outdoors into your marriage? Embracing all of the hurdles that come with such an escapade? Well… I certainly have!! Photographing couples in their element, in the elements is totally my jam!! A hike up Bluff Knoll to get wed at sunrise would be a feeling like no other.

Nannup really does have some epic countryside, so perfect if you’re looking for something off the beaten track but easily accessible and closer to home. We dressed our awesome real life couple Lauren & Mitch in wedding attire which would be suitable for such an adventure. Coupled with a good set of boots, a backpack and of course a beautiful native bouquet from Earth Blooms, they were good to go. This dress by Spell Bride is also perfectly fine folded up, so had this been a real elopement, Lauren could have just chucked it in her rucksack. Sam went for a nordic look with the makeup look to enhance Lauren’s features, yet keeping it all very natural and then dark lipstick for a bit of edge. Her beautiful auburn hair looked amazing in this french plait, ideal for staying pristine in the elements.
